Dawn Quicksall

Dawn Quicksall joined Girl Scouts as a Brownie many years ago, and while time has passed her passion never left.  Fast forward approximately 35 years…. After raising three children of her own, she decided she wanted to use Girl Scouts as an opportunity to bond and create shared adventures with her step-daughter, Jessica.  Little did she realize at the time this was going to be the beginning an unexpected journey.  Since 2007, Dawn progressed from being an “involved mom” to troop leader, to day camp director, to county-wide service unit leader, to having one of the largest Girl Scout troops in Southern Illinois with over 80 girls!

As a trainer with CIT, Dawn provides hands-on programs for Girl Scout leaders that gives them practical knowledge and confidence to transform their troops into everything they always hope they would be.  Her specialty topics include effective recruitment strategies and events, fun program development, planning and selling adventures to today’s girls, tapping into the resources of other scouting organizations, holding a county-wide Powder Puff Derby, creating a functional adult leadership team, helping adults break through the “Let’s Go Camping” barrier, growing meaningful girl leadership team, fundraising for both regular and super activities, securing community sponsorship for activities and equipment, and mastering positive media exposure.  If you want to see your troop or your daughter’s troop fly to the next level, then Dawn is your “Go-To Gal”!
